Hi there 👋
I'm Izy, a giant nerd in my fourth decade of life - born and raised in the UK by two retired first-gen NHS mental health nurses - which means many things, life has been a wild ride..!
The Auntie in my name is to convey my big age and personality type (middle child of five, an auntie to eleven niblings, and married to my best friend of twenty years - I'm sure that all has some influence!).
I'm here to encourage everyone to try everything (legally), to cheerlead dreams big and humble, be a sounding board with Asian flair, and tank the damage when you have need of it.
I've been a life-long gamer and designated family and community organiser, though the latter in smaller quantities now...
Work wise, I've hand-packed CDs (yes, old), stacked shelves, flipped burgers, worked as a secretary, a paralegal, studied law and practiced as a solicitor for ten years before settling into IT.
I've survived two burnouts and hard losses, and know with certainty that while not everyone has the same privileges, life is full of purpose and meaning, we should never stop learning, nothing is wasted - your joy is your own, and we can't do any of this alone.
My interests are wide and varied, and as a result you'll see a lot of things on this website!
